Review of the Interalpin 2019

Every two years, the leading international trade fair for ropeway technology, environmental technology and winter maintenance equipment as well as for all other alpine technologies and services takes place in the capital of the Alps. This year, between the 8th and the 10th of May, around 29,000 trade visitors from all over the world flocked to the Interalpin in Innsbruck to learn about world novelties and product innovations relating to alpine technologies.

With its 23rd edition, the Interalpin was confirmed as the world’s leading fair this year, and the ppmc was given the opportunity to present its Qlik-based analysis and reporting solution ppmc | mountain insights at the booth of its partner SKIDATA. This individual product solution creates an overview of all the data and key figures of a ski resort. From hotel industry, catering, trade, personnel and energy to ski school, rental and accidents – from dashboards and central KPIs to detailed analysis or automated standard reports.

The ppmc was present at the booth for questions about the Qlik-based analysis and reporting solution ppmc | mountain insights, and it looks back on successful days at the fair with interesting and stimulating discussions.

Editing & Planning in Qlik®

Editing & Planning in Qlik®

Qlik users often lack the ability to edit and plan data directly in QlikView or Qlik Sense. The company INFORM GmbH recognized the need and use of such an extension and developed Write!. With the help of this extension, it is possible to edit data directly in QlikView or Qlik Sense. This way, data can be corrected directly on-the-fly in the applications, or missing data can easily be added. In addition, complex plans can now be created in Qlik.

Editing in the Qlik interface is possible without having to integrate additional data sources such as Excel or CSV files. It can be used in the QlikView Desktop App as well as in the QlikView web view or in Qlik Sense. The data editing takes place here via any desired HTML objects, such as check boxes, dropdown boxes, calendars or even simple free text.

The data storage can take place in two variants. In the simple version, the data from Qlik is automatically stored in external files such as Qlik’s own database format (QVD). In the second variant, data storage takes place in XML or CSV files. Furthermore, Write! offers the market a unique write-back functionality, which provides the ability to restore the manipulated files to any source database. Indeed, it does not matter which database type it is; even playing back in SAP is possible.

In order to meet the specific needs of our customers and prospective clients regarding their Business Intelligence solutions, we rely on a network of strategic partnerships. As a result, we have decided to partner with INFORM GmbH. This gives us the opportunity to easily implement this extension, both in existing Qlik-based analysis and reporting tools as well as in new Qlik projects.

Review of the “Qlik Consulting Days 2018”

Review of the “Qlik Consulting Days 2018”

The Business Intelligence world of Qlik keeps moving and constantly inspires by virtue of its technical innovations. In order to present these possibilities, the software company Qlik availed itself of opportunity to reach further clients at the Consulting Days from 20 to 21 June 2018 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The participants experienced two exciting days of events and discovered the new products for 2018, which Qlik offers with its Data Analytics Platform and the patented Qlik Associative Engine. The current release simplifies the creation of suitable visualizations, given the analysis of the data already during the loading process, and recommendations are accordingly made to the user in the course of appropriate visualizations, as based on the content and the field names. Qlik has now become even stronger with the multi-cloud function, and it thus takes the decisive step in a multi-cloud analysis solution.

In addition to these functions and innovations, there were also other interesting lectures on innovative Business Intelligence opportunities at the Consulting Days. Moreover, Qlik partners took the stage and presented the possibility of planning in Qlik-based applications as well as editing data. Among them was a further nice-to-have with a view to the future, namely a voice search, which will provide users with a substantial work relief.

As Qlik Solution Provider, we participated with great interest in this event and are pleased to offer our customers added value for their data analysis.
